Every Sunday morning I like to arrive at CCC early. I sit in the sanctuary alone and in silence as I pray and prepare my heart for Sunday School and worship. It's a special time for me. During Advent, my quiet time takes on new meaning because I no longer sit in darkness. Instead I enjoy the lights of the season that make our church look so beautiful. My heart is warmed as I look at the Christ child in the manger and reflect on Jesus as Light of the World. I give thanks to a loving God who cared enough to sacrifice His Son. I then walk through the rows of chairs laying my hands on many of them and pray for the individual that will soon occupy that chair (if you folks ever change your seating habits I'll be in trouble). So often God overwhelms me with love and thanksgiving for each of you as I lay hands on "your" chair.
Donna and I talk often of how blessed we are to be serving at Christ Community Church. Time and time again you have overwhelmed us with your love, your generosity, your affirmation and your kindness. Thank you for being a blessing to my wife and me. Thank you for welcoming us into your hearts and your homes. You are an amazing church family!
Donna and I want to thank you for who you are and what you mean to us. And we want you to know that we pray for you. With Christmas just around the corner our prayer is that this will be a season filled with great joy. May that joy come from family, friends and the knowledge that you have a Savior. As you celebrate the coming of the Christ Child may you experience His blessings in a new and fresh way. May you bask in the light of His love. And in doing so, we pray that you and yours will enjoy a truly meaningful and Merry Christmas!
